The Highest Paid Supermodels of 2016 According to Forbes

Fashion

Being obsessed with Forbes’ charts is something I deal with yearly, and I could scarcely keep a firm grip on my emotions when the chart of the highest paid supermodels of 2016was finally revealed on Forbes a few hours ago. This specific chart is interesting indeed not only due to fashion-related reasons, but also because it is quite revealing for what concerns marketing, social media and the so-called ‘influencer phenomenon’ we have been talking about for a while now.

Highest Paid Supermodels of 2016

Though iconic supermodels such Gisele BündchenAdriana Lima and Karlie Klossunsurprisingly made it to the list, most of the highest paid models of 2016 have one thing in common – millions and millions of followers on their social media accounts, particularly on Instagram.

Sure, both Bündchen and Kloss are very active on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter too, but their success on such social media is the result of their longtime career, while most of the highest paid supermodels of 2016 we are about to see on this list, sort of began (or improved) their career thanks to their enthusiastic social media followers.

Although they surely would hit it big anyways, such a phenomenon is something Forbes (un)directly enhances and analyzes throughout its article regarding the world’s highest paid supermodels of 2016 (the word ‘insta-famous’ comes a few times within its paragraphs), and we also find it extremely interesting.

The list, however, also reveals a sad phenomenon we should all start talking about, and that’s the fashion’s industry worrying lack of diversity. Regarding this, Natalie Robehmed, a staff writer at Forbes, told the Independent: “The majority of the list is overwhelmingly white, which reflects the lack of diversity in campaigns.”

Then again, Forbes’s list of the highest paid supermodel of 2016 will make us giddy, and for various reasons! Here is the top 10 chart:

#1. Gisele Bündchen

The Brazilian supermodel, now 36, has topped the list for 14 years in a row now, earning around $30,500,000 this year. Speaking of a successful career!

#2. Adriana Lima

One of Bündchen’s dearest colleagues and fashion veterans, Lima earned $10.5 million in 2016.

7 Must-Have Essentials That Need to Be on Your Packing List

Other Brands

You know that friend who can somehow effortlessly manage to pull everything together the night before an early morning flight without breaking a sweat? It's surreal for most of us and terrifying for others. What if you don't pack enough underwear? What if you forget your sunglasses or that hat that goes with everything? For those of us who need a little backup when it comes to travel time, a handwritten packing list is a lifesaver. Not to mention, there's something ridiculously satisfying about being able to cross items off one by one before zipping up your bag.

We've narrowed down a list of every essential you need to have on hand for your upcoming trip, from the must-have accessories that will take you through every occasion to the core wardrobe pieces you'll need to cover you when costume changes are in order. Check it out.

1The Bag You Can Carry Your Life In

You know it, you love it, you can fit a small animal in it. Your go-to bag is exactly what it sounds like. Think utility packaged in a classic silhouette you can throw over your shoulder and make it through your day with. It's 100 percent essential.

2Always Bring a Few Extras

Add in a few more undergarments than you think are necessary, and don't make a rookie packing mistake of not having any socks when your ankle boots are calling your name.

3Wrap It Up With a Top Layer or Scarf

Wraps and ponchos are perfect. Whether you go with something heavy or lightweight depending on the location of your trip, make sure you bring this accessory with you. There are so many different ways you can wear a scarf, and it also happens to be the easiest way to take a basic look and add some personality to it.

4The Right Cosmetics Bag Will Change Your Life

Finding the perfectly compartmentalized cosmetic bag is like hitting the jackpot. Go with a midsize option that you can fit into a carry-on (your makeup is the last thing you want to get lost in baggage claim), and fill 'er up with all of your beauty tools.

5The Basics, Just in Case

I always make sure to pack an extra pair of basics that cover three categories: 1. Tee/tank 2. Denim and 3. Shoes. Make sure you pack one of each that you know you can turn to if you're having a "what am I going to wear?" mini meltdown.

6Organize Those Baubles

A small jewelry pouch will help you avoid those epic necklace knots and keep all of your statement-making pieces in one spot. Pack lightly when it comes to clothing, and load up on trend-forward jewelry so you can create multiple looks using a few core wardrobe picks.

7The Dress

One essential dress, whether it's an LBD wrap-front number or a colorful shift dress option that works well with neutrals, is always a great thing to have on hand for any impromptu dinners or events you may need to go the extra style yard for.

LOUIS VUITTON ADDS CONTRAST TRIMS TO THEIR BELOVED CAPUCINES BAGS

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Capucines BBOne of the reasons why LV’s Capucines bags are so popular is their sheer simplicity and timelessness. The bag’s subtle, soft colors and minimaliststyle have attracted legions of fans. Once again showing their adeptness at maintaining the freshness of a classic, Louis Vuitton has taken the design up a notch by adding contrasting trims to some of the bags.

The bag gets a subtle makeover through the additions of vibrant, color contrast piping, edge painting, and interior, making it more covetable than ever. The black and taupe bags get bright pink trims making them youthful and smart picks. But our favorite is the powder blue bag whose vivid orange trims add a sweet sense of whimsy to the otherwise prim bag.
As usual Capucines MM bags are priced at $5,600 while the smaller BB bags are priced at $4,400.
